Travel grant for Omar Tutakhel

Omar APSelect 21 Mar 2017

Omar Tutakhel has been awarded with the "Netherlands Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology" (NVBMB) Travel grant. He will be attending the Experimental Biology meeting, which will be held in Chicago from 22-26 April 2017.

During the Experimental Biology meeting Omar will present our team's work "Alternative splice variant of the thiazide-sensitive NaCl cotransporter: the dominant role of the novel phosphorylation site S811". Which is part of his PhD project on elucidating the novel molecular and functional implications of the NaCl cotransporter in hypertension.

The Experimental Biology meeting is a congress that provides large-scale opportunities to join a scientific field at the top level. This is the annual meeting of six societies comprised of more than 14,000 scientists and 50 guest societies. Its primary focus areas include anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, investigative pathology, nutrition, pharmacology and physiology. Due to the large scale and vast amount of different topics, this will allow Omar to discuss his work in a large international field of experts on the renal transporters regulating the blood pressure.
