Sami Gemal, Mohammed obtained his bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Asmara in Eritrea. Afterwards, he moved to Europe and he is currently a master student of Biomedical Sciences (Toxicology and Pathobiology) at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. He joined the Department of Physiology for his master's internship under the supervision of Francisco J. Arjona. The primary goal of his internship was the elucidation of the physiological relevance of SLC41A1 in the context of Mg2+ homeostasis. Now as an RIMLS PhD student he will investigate the effect of flow on the transport properties of renal epithelial cells.
